While waiting for new and improved updates to the British Guard Diorama thread I thought some of you might be interested in seeing the some of the particular conversions that are featured in the Guard company.

Thus this lad was converted three times

to these three

These two figures were in turn sliced in half, the opposite halves combined and converted twice

So not only are these figures great to start with, they are also great to convert.

Did you convert them?I would be way too scared:eek: to as I probably would damage them.

Unfortunately for me Mark I do not have that talent.:( Admittedly this requires a high degree of skill but for those who have it, the possibilities are endless.;)

Bill-
There is certainly some excellent craftmanship on display here. I like them a lot!

These are some excellent conversions. My favorite, by far, is the kneeling firing figure rotated to fire off to the side. It's a very seamless conversion. Second, I like the NAP0081 on the far right side. Great stuff.

Beautiful conversions!
Whoever did them, sure is a very talented modeller.
Congratulations to these superb variations in your British Square.

Anyone want to take the credit for these Great conversions ? I think you deserve a big two thumbs up ;)

Yes, great conversions to be sure. I would never trust myself to do anything like that. In a second, I would have tossed two hundred dollars down the drain

Nice Job Bill, the British Gaurds would certainly benefit from any additional poses, Its great that you have the skill to do such a good job for us mere humans it would be nice if FL could indulge British collectors with more variety in this particular collection.

The Waterloo British are being overwhelmed with French units all very very good of course, but I am getting the impression the FLs primary focus is Russia/Borodino.

Well I Matt expect Matt will respond to this but while I would be thrilled to see a matching number of British units much sooner, they did start with Borodino and it is pretty clear that they finish what they start.;) Also while this is the only British unit to date, for Waterloo Allies, they have already added the most excellent Prussians and announced the stunning new Nassau line infantry, so I think it is pretty clear they will finish that as well.;) Moreover Matt did recently dangle some entincing hints about the 92nd, another Waterloo icon, so I would say all good things will come to those of us who wait patiently (or, like me, not:rolleyes:).:D For now, I am mostly content to slowly continue to accumulate those pieces that fit my interests and appreciate those that have to wait for another day (or budget).:D:D

Nice job on the conversions. Figure poses look natural and not forced.
Well done!
Rick

Not been around much so missed the info about the 92nd, will look back and retrieve it thanks. Buying the 8 carabiniers next as they look great and as Matt promised they have arrived.

Although at £120 pounds each here in the U.K it would be cheaper to buy a real horse. lol

Well having bought some horses from Ireland, which does indeed have some relative values, I'd say that like the real ones, you get what you pay for.:D Of course, unlike the real ones, the purchase price of these is not the cheapest part of ownership.;):D:D

It wont deter my decisions Bill going to the London show on 5th December. They really do look very good indeed.

In terms of cost of ownership its not feeding the horses or buying them for that matter its the two teenage daughters that are the expensive part of the equation.

I can well appreciate that. However, buying and feeding isn't so bad, its the maintenance (and the farm that they live on) that can be a killer.;)

Good hunting at the London show mate.

Our focus is split pretty evenly between Borodino and Waterloo and French/French Allies vs. either Russians or Anglo Allied Army.

For the Anglo Allied Army we've thus far released the British 1st Foot Guards, British Foot Artillery, and Uxbridge/William of Orange. We've also released the Prussians as has been pointed out. Yes, it's been some time since we've done a big Anglo Allied release, and this can mean only one thing - that they're due up next! So sit tight for a month or two as the pendulum is about to swing back in a big way to the Anglo Allied side of the field. ;)

Now THAT is a VERY GOOD thing for it to mean.:D:D:D

Very true, Matt. You have a done what I think is an excellent job in balancing between the two battles.

Love the sound of this! Especially if it would be the Highlanders that were alluded to in another thread last week. To be honest, it was First Legion's treatment of the British Guards that got me into collecting Napoleonics. So, to further be able to expand on Wellington's forces is great news.
