Hi,

Anyone seen the new British Regiments Series in matt. The first releases will be the Black Watch. More information in To Soldier Collector issue 20. The figures look outstanding.

Not another series I like the look of....

Please share some photos or links to photos if you are able. I was not aware that Britains were doing something like this at this time. What more do you know about this new line that you could share?

Thanks,

Dave

Gents,

Hope this posts....

Oh man, those look really fantastic! How did I miss that news? So those will be matte and sizewise closer to the current Redcoats range or the other Matte ranges currently offered (i.e. ARW, Napoleonics, etc...) Also, when are they coming out do you anticipate?

Ken or Richard, can you offer any words of wisdom Re: these superb looking fellows?

I second Mister Dave,
When will there be more information on these highlanders. Based upon the photos they look as good, if not better than KC highlanders.

Benjamin

According to Toy Soldier Collector Magazine, Britains will be starting a new series of single matt figures and quote "The range currently appears to be called 'British Regiments Series' and initially features members of The Black Watch from across history.

Interesting. They look great btw. The february catalog will shed some light on the matter I think.

Hi There...These will appear in the 1st Quarter 2008 catalog and are the leading releases in a range of Matt figures to cover various units in different periods.
These are the standard 56mm Matt style figure that W. Britain has been offering since the aquisition by 1st Gear. This will make them totally compatible with existing series such as AWI and Napoleonics. There will be two additional 'Black Watch' figures shown in the new catalog for the moment...with additional figures to be added later in the year.
This format will also allow us to add additional poses, officers and/or musicians to the more popular periods and uniforms at a later date.
More to follow...be patient!

Exellent news! Thank you, Ken. The great work just keeps on flowing. I cannot wait to see that first '08 catalog...what is the expected mailing date on those btw? Thanks again.

Mister Dave

The catalogs are being printed now for a Toy Trade Show in the UK next week. The mailings will follow sometime after that. We have been pretty busy here wrapping up the line for this catalog and are just now starting the list for the next go-around!
I am sure there will be some dissapointments with the lack of additions to this line or that with this newest catalog...but we are going to a quarterly format for the first time so please be patient.
