British Toy Soldier Figures (1 Viewer)

Hi everybody.

I inherited the toy soldiers in the attached photo from a British relative. Can anyone tell me anything about them? Such as the era or military units depicted? Are they of any value? Are they of any historic significance? Do they depict a specific military campaign? I'm really intrigued and would love to know more about them. Are they still being manufactured? Are they part of a larger set that I could go on to try and collect? Any info will be greatly appreciated.

These are The Britains Super deetail paratroopers. They are not made anymore and I do not think they are rare. They are for figures that were made that are rare, but you do not appear to have any of them. I would expect you to get about £3-£5 per figure.

The one with "Grey" beret is SAS.The Red berets look like they have been re-painted but might just be camera flash.If you had received the first poses of Paras from this set you would have had something.

Thanks for the info and the links guys. Now I am even more intrigued. I understand what you are saying about the original poses being the rare ones and the later poses (which I have) not so much. But why did they change the poses? Although there are differences they not significant enough to be obvious to the untrained eye. It just made me wonder why they went to the trouble. Was there any particular reason. Also, I see on the https://haroldsrangers.files.wordpress.com website that the paratrooper figures were sold in sets. I've just found a full set of used Britains Super Deetail SAS for sale online! (See attached photo). I'm not sure if they are the old or new poses though...? Anybody any ideas? (I think I may have just developed a new fascination with used toy soldiers, of all things, ha ha!)

Only the Paras were made in the first(Lost) poses.There is also a Royal Marines(Green berets)set.All sets are in same poses.

The first set of 4 were withdrawn (so the rumour goes) because of the problems with the IRA, etc at the time. This may of course just be BS.
The second set of 4, which you have, are very common. No other figures were made to go with this range.
I have seen them for as little as .50p and rising to £5.00 each. No real value, but interesting as they used the complex over-moulding tequnique for the different colors. Timpo perfected it.

I heard that this was indeed, a fact, from a relative in Ulster.
