Budapest toy soldier shops? (1 Viewer)

There was a small shop at the fortress. It had Hungarian centric figures which are very well cast but the painting was poor still I picked up two hussars with the intent of repainting them. I will see if have the shop address

When you say the fortress, which place do you mean?

Buda Castle near the Budapest museum and there was a bunch of little shops I totally stumbled onto it. There was also a very cool military shop on the same road that the synagogue is on don’t remember the street name but between the river and the synagogue was where I found a nice militarism shop and up on the hill near the castle was where I found that shop. I will look and see if his shop name is on the box for the pair of hussars I bought.

It’s a fantastic city to wander around in! Have a great time.

If you're interested in the Romans, there's the ruins and Museum of Aquincum you can take a tram to.

Hello there, guys. I’m going to Budapest this November, so, guys, I’d appreciate your recommendations on what to visit in Budapest. It’s going to be my first time in this city (actually, in Europe too). That’s why I’ll be very grateful for your recommendations, guys! Btw, we’re going on a free tour Budapest. My close friend lives in Budapest, so he’s managed to get us some free tickets. Btw, is Budapest really famous for its underground caves? So, I’ll be waiting for your replies, guys. Thanks in advance for your help!!

The only military site I visited was the Museum of Military History ( Hadtörténeti Intézet és Múzeum ) which is up at Buda castle area.

You will need a couple of hours but well worth the visit. Also in the castle area you can see the place guards

I’ll try to post a note complete list later, but here are some thoughts for now:

—The military museum is a must. Plan your visit ahead and get a tour of the armory.
—The Castle District keeps getting better as they renovate it. Set aside a whole day for the Art Museum, Budapest History Museum, and the castle itself.
—In the castle area is a museum of the Royal Guards. Make sure to go when this is open, as it is exceptionally good.
—There is a road with lots of antique stores and some good militaria, and it is worth checking out.
—Make sure to arrange a tour of the parliament to see the Crown of Saint Steven.
—Hungarian alcohol is the best in the world. Try Tokaji wine.
—The city park is lovely, has some great sites to see, and has some great cafes.
—The Hungarian history museum has great stuff, but be wary of the narrative it presents.

Do you have any particular interests? What brings you there? I can also give you shopping advice if you want, as I buy a lot of antiques and cloths there.
