Very nice Harry. I like the photo style and progression of action in these scenes. Thanks for posting them.

Oh, thank you Spitfrnd - you're so very kind. Glad you like them - I reckon they're pretty atmospheric.

Cheers

Great photography Harry. I always enjoy your pictures. I thought at first these were news photos till I saw some of the figures. John

Very cool, Heid!!:cool::cool: Some of the shots look like newsreel photos from the war.

By the way, my 3 and 1/2 year old son Alec loves the pictures you posted of the whale shark. I have to pull them up at least once every day for him.:)

You are quite welcome mate; I reckon so too. These additional shots are equally impressive; they make me want to reach for my fur lined parka. I hope this post is productive in encouraging you to post more. :)

For someone that is no longer into WWII anymore, this is pretty good.

Good job harry

Well Louis, in that case, consider these as a freebie for your son. There's actually three of them visit one of the platforms every day. Strange that although there's five platforms in the field, its only a particular one they visit.
I understand they only eat plankton - but they seem to like cooked rice as well.
Its difficult to get a sense of scale from these snaps - but I estimate they're something between 30ft to 35ft long and they dwarf the normal sharks as you can see.

Actually Louis, this photo might give an idea of the size of those whale sharks. The photos were taken from the deck level of that row of "grey things" you see here - about 50-60ft from sea level.

Man thos are good photos! Though not very Oriental or colourful:p That tank den is really cool. But the GI with Camel is a real treat.

Now those are some great snaps Harry.

The whaleshark grows up to 50ft long and can weigh upto 13 tonnes. They eat plankton and are the world's largest fish. They can live up to 70 years.

Its a Lucky Strike - I got the microscope onto it just to confirm.
New Oriental stuff coming up next week, might even be towards the end of this week. Depends on Missus H's reaction to the bulging luggage crammed to the gunnels with new TS purchases in Hong Kong.
Haven't been brave enough to inform her yet about the K&CUK Crimean orders we're picking up in Beijing at the end of May and again in July - Ulp.

Have discovered one of the many missions she goes out on whenever I turn up on her doorstep; she goes and gets the latest home-coming present evaluated at her cousin's shop - he happens to be a Jeweler of some considerable repute, (or so one of her pals in the local Coven told me). Won't be disappointed this time either - its a Rare Single Black Tahitian Pearl on a Platinum Chain, that I got at a knock-down price 4 weeks ago in a sale at Hong Kong Airport Duty-Free.
I've already "doctored" the receipt. So, I should get away with the latest hobby acquisitions without too much physical pain - again.

Cheers
Devious Heid ;)

I really like the second pic....

Which second pic?

This one?

Sorry guys, it's this really slow server that's fouling things up. By the time my posts get through it, I'm not too sure what photos are being referred to.
