I came upon this in Paul W. Miraldi's excellent "Uniforms and Equipment of U.S. Military Advisors in Vietnam". It was a direct descendant of the WWII SAS smock pattern and was used in Southeast Asia in the early '60s. It was also called "pinks and purples", "British windproof pattern" and "British swept pattern". I'd never heard of this before - anyone out there have some of this in their closet or attic?
