I have set BWCP 5 Piece Colour Marching Party...looking at the toysoldiers site these pictured have soldiers with rifles & swords on their left...the set I have are rifles on their right and swords on their left...I already ruled out an inverted picture as both sets have left foots leading...any ideas, maybe I'm missing something?

Did you look at the brochure section. If they aren't there, I will check to see if I have brochures that picture them.

I guess I need to spend more time on the brochure section...it's so tiresome going page by page looking...though it is fun, just not fun looking for something in particular.

Take a look at this one. I have the original and the brochure seems to match what's on the other part of Bill's site.

Brad, my set looks just like the first brochure (the five w/2 flags) except my rifles are on the opposite side.

It's entirely possible the photography was messed up.

JMO, but those don't look to be the same figures. Mark's figures have the guns on the right, as noted, but their left arms are swinging to the REAR, as oppossed to the catalog figures with the right arms swinging to the FRONT. Those are different figures. -- Al

See...I don't get it...they have the obvious K&C stamping on the bottom...maybe somebody glued the arms on in reverse at the factory?

Never noticed this before. My sets appears to differ from the catalogue as well. Two figures at the front of the column, the officer and sargeant major?, have their arms swinging to the front, the others are swinging to the rear.

side by side pics...

It looks like the soldiers in the top picture are carrying the SA80 rifle, while the bottom set looks to be armed with the older L1A1 rifle, although I can't tell for sure. If I remember correctly, and some of our British military folks on the board might be able to help out with this, these rifles had different manuals of arms (I hope my reference to drill doesn't get me shouted down over here), and used different positions for "shoulder arms," if that is the correct terminology in the Royal Army. If one of you can tell me which rifle your troops are using, it would help.

Dave

Dave, your right, different shoulder arms for the SLR and SA80. Not very good enlargements but you can make out the different rifles.
