I do not know much about these soldiers, nor have I ever posted for sale here previously. A lot of pieces are Britains, though a number of other makers are present. About 400 pieces. Absolute majority are in excellent 'unplayed' in condition - see photos!

Coronation procession, British Soldiers, world leaders, orchestras, Scottish soldiers, American Civil war, etc.

I would like to sell everything as a single lot, as listing them (even as groups) on ebay would take forever, though if you are interested in a particular set, I will entertain partial offers.

Please DM me any offers.

Thank you for looking,

Hi, Vlad,

It's a nice little collection. Some are toy soldiers, that is, they were sold as toys. Some are "collector's toys", made in recollection of the classic toy soldiers of many years ago, but better details, and not really intended for true play, like in the backyard, but more as collector's items. Still others are kit figures, sold for hobbyists to paint themselves. Besides Britains, I saw some other, later toy soldiers such as figures by King-White/Reeves in Hong Kong, and some Staddens (those were kit figures).

I can definitely understand wanting to avoid the amount of labor it will take to sell these online, particularly via eBay. However, you might realize more by selling them as individual sets, than as an entire collection. It depends on what you want to do-do you want to get rid of them as fast as possible, and with as little cost in time and effort as possible, or do you want to get as much as you can for them?

For example, the coronation coach could bring more sold separately, than as part of a collection of 400-plus soldiers.

A compromise between those two ends of a spectrum might be to break the collection down into sets or groupings, and individuals, and list them here, and then entertain offers through PMs. Other members have used that method, with relative success, as far as I can tell from following their posts.

Best of luck with your sales, whatever you choose to do!

Prost!

Brad,

Thank you for response and suggestions. I was thinking of breaking the collections in to US, Coronation, Orchestras, etc. As a lot of these soldiers are not marked, I don't even know the makers and thus will probably end up grouping collectible and toy soldiers together.

I was actually thinking of leaving the coronation for myself - it's really well done, and, since the Queen recently died, it can serve as a very nice tribute to her.

However, I would love to find a collector who would be interested in the whole lot and would appreciate what they are buying.

Thank you,

Vlad
