Bonjour Francis,
I find the pictures you posted of great interest. Definitely not a mechanized unit.
I do not speak French but in English this version of camel is called -a Bactrian camel - two hump like the letter B. The word Dromedary, is used in English, for the one humped animal found in north Africa and the middle east. One hump as with the capital letter D.
Maybe Andy will consider your suggestion, I know he produced Afrika Korps versions. A German soldier on a camel of any type next to a tank would be a interesting and curious sight. Perhaps someone out there has an image they could post.
