Servus, Templar! Try using cheesecloth. You can dye it with acrylics, or even by soaking it in coffee or tea. Then you can apply any kind of commerically-made diorama foliage, or whatever you might prefer for greenery. You can also use thin paper strips to represent the cloth strips used on some netting to help break up outlines.
And you can probably find it at a grocery store, and if not there, hardware stores. Look in the section where they have stains for wood. Cheesecloth is often used to apply wood stain.
