Just wondering does anyone know how to do camoflage netting , Have seen some 1/35 tank models with netting drapped over the gun barrel and the side of the tank etc..thought it looked great...any handy way to do it? Thanks

I would thin some paint like green or brown and cut some medical gauss and dip it in the paint and pull it out and let it dry. Thats how you do it and if you want it in place like on a bunker dip it in water downed glue and place it over the bunker and let it dry.

Cheesecloth, too. Probably the same weave or thread count as medical gauze. Alex is right, use thinned white glue to stiffen it. Both materials take paint really well, and you can add leaf material, etc, to make it look more like the real thing.

Prost!

Cheese cloth would be excellent! Great tip!

Colin,
These are all great ideas which I might include in some future dio once our house move settles down and I finally get some time to get to work on my displays again. My thanks to all contributors to this thread for posting such good suggestions.
JD Miniatures do some pretty good ready-made netting, especially the "Ambush" one. They are very stiff though and do need to be "wetted" down a bit with water & white glue to make them take up a more natural position. (Position isn't the word I'm looking for, but I haven't woken up properly yet....:D).

Cheers

Those are all great suggestions and if you're talented and have the time and patience I'd recommend taking their advice.

For me, I'd rather get some of those great camo nets offered by Build-A-Rama. They even have standards/ steaks to affix the nets.
