Hi,
Any idea on the manufacturer? I think It's a resin figure in 1/30 or 1/32nd scale? Would love to get hold of one.

Thanks

My first thought is that it's by Martin Hille/Kellerkind Miniaturen, but I don't yet see this particular figure on his website. Martin produces a series of pilots and ground crew for use with Wingnut Wings aircraft.

Prost!

Is that a new Jenkins plane. The squadron insignia are quite interesting.

If I'm not mistaken, that model depicts Cpl. Wilhelm Scheutzel's plane, with Jasta 65. He had his plane painted to depict "die Sieben Schwaben", the "Seven Suebians", which was a folk story included in the Brothers Grimm's collections. The Schwaben take in Baden, Württemberg and the western part of Bavaria. The folks in the north, especially the Prussians, look on the folks from the south as clods, and the "Seven Schwaben" plays out along those lines. They undertake to prove their prowess in battle, using a huge lance as their weapon. The climax is a battle with what they believe to be a monster, but it turns out to be a hare. But they show a sort of foolhardy courage. Their leader proclaims, as they enter the "battle", "Let us therefore advance boldly to the fight/And thus show our valor and might". His choice reminds me, in a way, of American pilots who chose cartoon art for their nose art, like using Bugs Bunny. Sure, it's a cartoon, but Bugs wins in the end.

Prost!
