Can you help me identify IMRIE RISLEY? (1 Viewer)

hi, this is my 1st post...I have about 100 of these 54mm guys, and can't identify them...look to be US Revolutionary war era...navy coat w/beige cuffs/collar, red vest?,white X shaped straps on front & back, beige knee-length pants, grey stockings, black boots w/5 silver buttons on outer sides, round brown (canteen?) on strap, brown "purse" on strap, rifle, hair in ponytail, black cap( with brim, black fur crest from front to back down middle, lt.blue band above brim,and white & blue "ice cream cone shaped " decoration on left side of hat...no markings on bases...painted museum quality...really sharp!!! Hi, John, regarding posting pics in the forum, you might find it easier to use a free hosting site, like Photobucket. When you upload your pictures to PB, the site then generates the tags, or links, that you can use to post here and in other forums.

I'd be curious to see your figures, too. Without seeing any pictures, another indication that they are Imrie-Risley figures would be an "IR" engraved on the undersides of the bases.

From your description of the headgear, though, they sound like Lincoln Logs figures of American infantry circa 1790-1800. The uniform was still very similar to that worn during the Revolution, but instead of a tricorn hat, these figures were cast with a crested cap.

Are they solid or hollow?

These guys appear to be solid, not hollow...they do have a I/R on the bottom...most are glued to a base....John A..p.s. my late uncle, Dr. John Vanderhoff lived in Bethlehem

thanks for sending me the images, they look good, with a well deatiled paint finish.

Like Trooper suggested, they are Washington's Guards wearing fur crested helmets, which are the paricular headdress for the Series 43 of Imrie Risley's Rev War figures.

I/R kits from this era use the same bodies for 6 series, beacuse the uniforms of that time were the same cut, just used different coloured cloth with different headdress.

Series 41 is US infantry with cocked hat
series 42 US light infantry cap
Series 43 Washington's guard
Series 44 US Marines with a truned up bowler hat
Series 50 British Fusilier bearskin
Series 51 British Cocked hat.

There are 54 diffent poses available so a wealth of different figures can be made up so have a look at the I/R website for more details.
