Made in Canada
anything I'm missing (have good access to torrents so anything should be available)

I can recommend some shows from the archives--The Kids in the Hall, and SCTV, even after they were picked up by NBC.

Prost!
Brad

SCTV was one of the all time greats. More great characters than I can remember. Johnnie LaRue and his infamous crane shot.

I like when the SCTV satellite collided with a Russian TV satellite and they showed a Soviet game show, public service announcements, "Here Comes Yurgi!" (He's everybody's friend) and the new Russian TV "Mini Cam" pushed by several techs.

"Doctor Tongue's 3D House of Stewardesses" was pretty good to, introduced by Count Floyd.

"And now it's time to visit with everyone's favorite Cossack...

Hey, Gyorgy! (clap, clap!) He's coming to your town!
Hey, Gyorgy! (clap, clap!) He never wears a frown!
Hey Gyorgy! (clap, clap!) He's as happy as can be
'Cause all of Russia, is Gyorgy's family!
Hey, Gyorgy!"

KGB agent: "Gyorgy! I am late for the purge, but my automobile will not start!"
(Gyorgy lifts the hood of the car, revealing a battery with drinking straws sticking out of it)
KGB agent: "Oho! Uzbeks have drunk all my battery fluid! Thanks, Gyorgy!"

That was a riot! And the word puzzle game show, "Uposcrabblenik", or, "What Fits Inside Russia?"

"Three-Cee-Pee One, Russian Television!"

The Godfather episode was a riot, too. It opened with Eugene Levy as Floyd the Barber, asking Don Caballero for a favor, a la Bonasera.
"It's Johnny Pavarotti, an' he's makin' a beeline for the lasagna!"

I think those 90-minute shows are on DVD now.

surely those two words together are about as appropriate as german humour ..........

I've looked at past issues of German Humour magazines on-line, several going back to the mid 1800s. I can't read or speak German but the visual cartoon's punch lines usually involve someone getting hurt or property damage.

Children's stories are strange..

Love the cartoons Scott! Also, Red Green is great! I love his inventions- pumpkin carving with gunpowder and a glue stick, make your own fast food cart.... I will have to check out that Russian show....
