Just purchased these guys from eBay. They are the 6 inch Marx men I've been looking for. As soon as they arrive my son and I plan to have some fine outdoor battles. As Ben says, "Do you think the guys on the forum will want to see a diorama made by an 8 year old?" :D

OHHH YESSSSS - LET US SEE THE BATTLE !!!

Dont forget the firecrackers and gas dirt for the realistic effect ;)

What opportunities Ben has to play with toy soldiers. As he gets older, he knows where he can get his collection at cost. Now the envy comes out. Ben you lucky boy. Yes, bring on your diorama.

Those were a blast as a kid, glad to see your sharing them with your son. Like Charlie says, get them in the dirt, good luck and have fun. Don't forget to take some pics for us. Mike:)

Peter,

Yes, please...that would be cool. Geez, I remember getting these guys as a kid with my weekly allowance from the local drug store.

I had very little money then and it was so much fun playing in my fantasy world of toy soldiers in dirt where the good guys (USA and Brits) always beat the bad guys.

I had some six inch guys as well. I remember those battles like they were yesterday. Oh the screaming! The smoke! Don't forget the BB Guns and Magnifying glass.:D

There were always casulties in our game .... as well as a front yard on fire and smell of firecracker smoke in the air....."I Love the Smell of Firecracker Smoke in the Morning"...sniff sniff

The soldiers I bought off of ebay were purchased from someone in Weshington state who does not take Paypal (had to send a check) and who only ships on Saturdays. We'll see when they arrive.

See what happens when you don't read all the way thru the listing before buying...

Patience...patience...

Last year when mum was digging up some well loved plants in her garden down south to bring up Ta north she turned over the soil and low and behold there were 10 or so of my old plastics.

I cleaned them up and they are now in the hands of a frineds son of mine. Being played with all over again.

I used to take my Star Wars stuff out in the back garden it was like aplanet Hoth!

Yep still 8 i have light sabres on the wall in the office!

There used to be an old abandoned Golf course near where i lived as a child. We used an old bunker as Desert sand dunes for all sorts of wars.I must have lost countless Eigth army and Afrika Corp soldiers along with Action man equipment in there.Ah the days before mortgages,Credit cards,Hangovers etc.

Hi Guys

Yes indeed those were the very, very best of times! I had a bunch of the huge plastic guys and when I was home visiting I found a box with some of them an Indian and an astronaught I imagine the old house has a ton of them in the yard.

All the best

Dave

I believe there are many bodies still buried out there in my parents yard

Here is a Battle in the dirt. Will look forward to the pics. Of the 6 inch soldiers. I found a couple of these in my grandsons Toy Box the other day he is playing with them now. My grandson is starting his own collection so maybe a future collector. He was looking at some of my better soldiers and said Wow I need some of those. I said as soon as you learn how to take better care of them I will give you some. He will probably Inherit my whole army when I pass on.
Get them in the dirt and have fun.
Charlie:p
