Hopefully metal figures and resin war elephant reduce the weight thus cheaper postage

I believe we will see elephants some time next year......
Thanks for this. Are you basing this on some communication from John Jenkins? I would love to see one since they produce such high quality figures across multiple lines. Their sculpting and painting is excellent at reasonable prices.

He knows there is a strong demand for these.......

It will be interesting to see what type of war elephant John will produce. The smaller African forest elephant inhabited territory near the Carthaginian homeland and was depicted on some of their coins. Large Asian elephants were used by allies and trade partners, so not out of reach of Carthage. - I don't believe the African bush elephant, largest of the three, has the temperament to ever have been trained for such things.

Whatever the choice, a JJD Carthaginian war elephant will be a very welcome addition to to this excellent series of ancients.

[Prefer nice large one, and hopefully not the same poses as others over the years, perhaps a dead one, we have never seen anywhere a dead War elephant with crew beside it and roman standing looking

I remember years ago a picture of John at his work desk and to one side there was a elephant in plain sight. We joked at the time on the forum, the elephant was being used to push around the boxes on the desk that were about to be posted. The expectation at the time was that John was in the process of releasing one in perhaps the Roman series, alas nothing ever materialised. Ever hopeful. Robin.

I would buy a elephant made by John in a second. In fact I’m still waiting for a (king)Tiger. :smile2:
