Hi Guys,
Another of our favorite 1:30 scale model aircraft ‘flew-in’ this morning in the shape of the mighty Sikorsky H-34 “Choctaw” in US Marine Corps markings.
This American-built, piston-engined military helicopter was originally designed as an anti-submarine warfare (ASW) aircraft for the NS Navy. It then went on to be adopted to a general troop carrying role, particularly by the US Marines in Vietnam.
USMC H-34s were also among the first helicopter gunships to be tried and tested in that conflict.
Here, a squad of K&C’s Marines form a protective perimeter around an H-34 as it evacuates some wounded ‘Grunts’ and a few Vietnamese civilians.
Hope you like the scene… and the ‘chopper’…
All the best,
Andy
