I stumbled across a series of DVD's titled “Century of Warfare", including such fascinating topics like

"ZULU WARS 1879",
"THE BOER WAR AND OTHER COLONIAL ADVENTURES",
"THE BATTLE OF BANNOCKBURN",
"RORKE'S DRIFT 1879".

The manufacturer advertises itself as "Pegasus Entertainment specializes in the supply of budget home entertainment products such as pre-recorded Compact Discs and DVD's to both traditional and non-traditional outlets worldwide, ...” which worries me a bit. The documentaries seem to rely heavily on footage from reenactents. Does anyone have any experience with these documentaries?

These documentaries are for example being sold through Amazon.

Andanna,
I used to sell a lot of DVD's.
If you look at The History of Warfare series look at the product codes and you will see they start with a CROM which stands for Cromwell a UK company that produced them. Cromwell also did a series called Line of Fire.
About 5 years ago there were 32 titles in that series and now I see there are 52.
A Google revealed Cromwell

"Founded by Bob Carruthers. Acquired by Eagle Rock Entertainment in 2000. Rebranded as Eagle Media Productions c3/2003 - see there for any later references. Home video and DVD releases handled by their division: Pegasus"

Carruthers is a Historian and author who appears in many of the DVD"s.

They were well done and were popular with my customers.

I only stopped stocking them when they dropped from A$20 to $10 overnight and the supplier forgot to tell me until I noticed a major chain of shops selling them for less than I could buy them. Never touched DVD's again as a retail item.

Buy one and see. They may be branded differently or have different covers depending upon where you are but actually made by Cromwell.

Hope that helps.
Regards
Brett

Thank you for the advice. I think I will try one just to check it out.

Has anyone ever watched one for an eyewitness report?
