Disappointing result for Atletico at home. Imperils the chance of an all Spanish Madrid final. Schwarzer was not really challenged all day although Atletico had the better it, overwhelmingly so. Chelsea was quite happy to settle for the draw and not attack.

Well, the big boys are in action on Wednesday.

Im sure David Moyes wish he'd never left Everton. Man U will not be seeing Europe next year except as tourists. Maybe they need to bring Alex Ferguson back.

In a rather tedious game, Real managed to eke out a win where Bayern controlled possession. The Real defense put the clamps on Robben, who is always dangerous.

Now, if Arletico can find a way to win and Real can duplicate their effort, we might just have an all Spanish final.

The announcers were terrible; a couple of Americans Gus Johnson and Eric Wynalda. On, for a British announcing team.

Two quite boring games and to be honest not a patch on the closing stages of the Premier League. Unfortunately neither semi-final is set up for the either team to go all out for goals so could be another tedious/tactical midweek.

Shame about Moyes, after years trying to turn Everton into Man Utd he decides to turn Man Utd into Everton and gets the sack for it:)

I see the first game next week, RM v Bayern, a defensive affair by Real with Bayern pouring it on. It could be like last night.

The other game might be more interesting. If Atletico can get ahead, Chelsea will be panicking because it will have been an away goal.

Unfortunately for Moyes, following a legend is never easy. He would have been better off to stay at Everton, away from the limelight.

The Championship for Europe, Spain but more importantly Madrid is on! {sm3}

Anda, los Galacticos! ^&cool

Incredible match. Whew is all I can say. Casillas made a bad mistake in the first half but Sergio Remos saved him in the 94th minute. I thought the mistake would be fatal but the second half was all RM and it was only a question of time before they would score in extra time. Two garbage goals made it 4-1.

El Decimo! Madrid are the Champions. Spanish Football reigns supreme ^&cool^&cool

Sergio Ramos scores the tie!

So the team with the 522 Million Euro payroll beat the team with the 79 Million Euro payroll?

Gee, never saw that one coming.............:rolleyes2:

At the 90th minute I was convinced that this wasn't going to RM's year but was glad to proved wrong!

Great match, extraordinary to watch! Wonderful to see football in it`s finest, and how a minute can make the whole difference and define history… When it reached 45' of the second half all I could see was Atletico raising the cup… Well done Real!
Now for the world cup…and Spain is the force to be worried about...:wink2:

Don't have the slightest idea, what you are speaking abut

It was the European Championship in soccer, or is it football.

Ended up being two teams from Spain, actually, two teams from the same city.

So one beat the other on the field, or is it the pitch and won the game, or is it the match and are now the champions of Madrid, Spain and Europe all in one shot.

So is half of Spain now happy and the other half sad or more importantly, is half of Madrid happy and the other half sad?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Trying to get up to speed on all of this stuff as the world cup is two weeks away.

I'm sure Mirof knows what it's all about as we made the goalkeeper from his country look silly.

I'm sure all of Spain except Barcelona is happy, and that part of Madrid that routs for Atletico. They call themselves the Pupos, the jinxed ones, and after yesterday, that probably won't change. Their coach, Simeone, was a give no quarter, ask no quarter player when he played for Argentina and he did nothing yesterday to dispel that impression. He will be much in demand.

Is that the goalie who allowed that weak goal when he overplayed the ball and it dribbled into the net to make it 1-0, or was it the one who got beat on that remarkable header in extra time to tie up the match?

The match winner was off of a rebound, another great header, the third goal came about due to a defensive breakdown, the fourth was off of a penalty kick, the goal keeper had no shot on that one at all.

Have to love the whole extra time concept, 99% of which comes about due to all the flopping and rolling around on the ground like the guy had been shot by a sniper.

Not sure what team is "your" team.

WE HAD THE LUCK OF CHAMPION
