Well guys, we gave it our best shot but after monitoring the usage and participation on the CGA site coupled with the fact that repeated attempts on our part to bring it up to the standards of our website and forum were unsuccessful, we have decided to discontinue the auction service.

Thank you to all who gave it a try. We will continue of course to offer the Collector Classifieds here on the forum as always.

Sorry to hear it but probably wasn't large enough collector base to make it worthwhile.Maybe someday...

I actually think there is still a place in the hobby for a site like this!

The CGA launch was delayed as we struggled with the designers of the program to get it up to the high standards that we at Treefrog hold for ourselves. Thus, the initial interest that happened when we annouced the concept waned as time passes with no site. Finally we decided we had to launch it, but did so with a few bugs. People tried it...it was good (not great)...and we took it down for repairs with a new developer. The couple days offline again dragged into weeks. People lost interest.

If someone with web design skills had the time to get the site up and running, I think it could make a go of it over time. Paying designers to do all the work necessary isn't feasible.

The site has a great backbone...but too many small issues.

Sorry it didn't go as hoped. I wanted to support it and start listing but it just seemed a mismatch for what I've been listing.

It was a splendid idea, but it is hard to compete with the huge elephant in the room, namely eBay. Perhaps it might work better at some later time in the next few years. Thanks for your efforts in any case!
