While we all debate whether to make new sub-groups. or elave everything alone: I thought I'd post photos of the Changing of the Guard (Set 1555) -- as a reminder of the excellent vintage sets by Britains:

A beautiful set. Don't you ever feel tempted to take them out of the box and set up a display?

A great set DB !!!! Thanks for posting. :)

I was thinking the very same thing Randy. While they are more valuable tied and boxed, anything I have has to come out of the boxes :D Although I am not so sure that I would be so eager if I was to obtain an old tied in the box Britains set.

Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your outlook) when I bought the set it was "originally" tied in, and so I would never cut the string and take the figures out for display.

It's a drawback when purchasing "older" sets, and that's one of the reasons, i ahve broadened my colelcting to include newer lines, with foam packing.

Thanks for your comments, though.

Dick
