Here's a transalation, courtesy of Yahoo Babel Fish. It's not the best translation as it's a literal one but it gives you a sense of his visit there:

One is as soon as concluded the much wait it visits in Italy di John Jenkins, holder of the company of soldatini John Jenkins Designs. The short stay to Rome has happened in days 2 and 3 you open them 2010 in the return travel towards Hong Kong after the participation of the Welsh artist to the London Toy Soldiers Show of March, one of the great world-wide events dedicated to the Coleccionism of little figures.

John has passed its first day of the roman stage in turn for the city having visited some of the more characteristic places and meaningful of it happens them. The paschal atmosphere and a warm spring sun has concurred with our host to at best appreciate the Eternal City that had not never visited previously.

The successive, organized day from importatrice company SAIMEX of Stefano Allorini, the encounter with the collectors whose presence, cause the imminence of the paschal festivities, it has not been unfortunately to the height of the expectations and of the importance of the personage has been carried out who enjoys great consideration and esteem also in Italy.
However the present ones have not made to lack to the host the heat and the appreciation for its job being admired the little figures in course realization that Jenkins has exposed to the public.
The author also has shown in directed its talent of scultore modeling under the made curious eyes and interested of the fans you leave of some little figures in via of completion: a beautifulst Indian of the forests in the action to extract an arrow from the quiver, a British grenadier in race, a fante of marine French, a portastendardo.

A lot admired the masters by now already defined in the color gray of the resin to their according to working passage. There was a beautiful group of Scottish soldiers in several placed for the series dedicated to Gordon and the Sudan (availability from July 2010 in set from two pieces to the month), equally a wonderful contingent little one of fanti of 44° the English regiment to the battle of Monongahela (the first two already available ones from you open them 2010), a portabandiera Giacobita and two arrogant pieces of artillery, an English the other American with three serving everyone, nearly ready for the production and relative to the battle of Chippewa of 1814.
In the definitive phase captain John Jenkins of the light infantry of Canada, always relative could itself be seen to period 1814, that it will be the new one figure soon of the Club for year 2010 available with to the catalogue anniversary 2009.

Many the questions and obviously the demands turned to the artist from all the present ones approximately the next realizations and John have demonstrated of being a careful listener answering to all with large garbo, patience and sympathy.
Walter (Adabbo) has asked new pieces for artillery for the Indian wars frank, Enrico (Pozzani) other fervent admirer of the aforesaid new wars wishes set of Indians of the forests and rangers, Carl (Terrinoni) has express, between the other things, desire to see realized in future a fort in stone and log like Fort William Henry or Fort Ticonderoga. Giuseppe (Argirò) and Sebastiano (Verdesca) would see any new set always reported to the period well franc-Indian while Mark (Padlocks) suggested of the transport boats truppa on the lakes Americans.

From what John Jenkins has made to trapelare from its words can mean that:
- there will be new set of Indians of the forests (figure in state of advance of is the test);
- they are in phase of production an income, a tower of sight and other figures for the Indian village of St Francis;
- new set of fanti of marine French with portabandiera Abraham will be available or for Monongahela that (the demand for the collectors for these events is still much fort);
- it is in phase of realization a Gatling machine-gun with serving of the English sailors for the period Sudan, an indispensable element for the English square against the charge of the Mahdisti;
- the collection of Battaglia of the Snowshoes would have to be considered almost finished but it could continue with some special set of the Club like the seen French official between the masters;
- new set relative to other regiments participants to the battle of Culloden previewed for the next year.

Insomma a lot the meat to the fire, the many suggestions all interesting but must hold account that John, as we have very understood during its appreciate visit, with the exception of others manufacturers, it carves all with own hands and this involves undoubtedly of the times longer than creation and realization.

In order to end gustosissima and a goliardic supper it has been offered to our host near the restaurant of Tommaso (Anzuini), an other fan of targati little figures John Jenkins, with which it is intentional to confirm to the English artist the sympathy and the appreciation of the Italian collectors, present and absentees, in the comparisons of its job that it donates at all moments of great joy, pleasure and distension. In everyone of we the hope to still see it in Italy with proposed extraordinary new in a time is alive not too much far away.

A detail thanks goes to Stefano Allorini di Saimex the whose availability has concurred the happy realization of a thus waited for event and interesting.

thanks mike for the link, and thanks brad for the translation, parts of which were very funny.

Dang Brad...

the translation is almost as hard to read as the Italian text...:D

Yeah, it's a beaut isn't it. When I used to live in Spain when I was a kid, we would have referred to this as Spanglish.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh...:D

I have used some of those free Internet translation services and they seem to have a mind of there own...

I'm sure Carlos speaks perfect Italian and once again...the translation service has done it's best...

if you read it slowly...with an open mind...you will most certainly get the gist of it.
