do most of you other collectors try to get soldiers out of your wives on xmas birthday fathers day and the like? Rob

I don't have to hint. Fortunatly!
I've sore far recievd the BR Highlanders.
The NA Highlanders.
However last Christmas the budget was very tight so I got new P.J.'s and a bag of green army men! Toy Soldiers is Toy Soldiers!!!
Gotta love em!
O.C.:D

Gads! The woman just won't do it! I am going to buy her something really awful. I threatened to buy her tools and she said that would be fine because she likes them! She:mad: likes to buy clothes for me:mad:

If she buys you clothes then that means you don't have to, so you can buy more soldiers. You just have to hope she has good taste, but she married you so you know thats a given. Also if she's like my wife she will always hate the clothes you buy for yourself. So wear what she buys for you and buy the soldiers you like for yourself. Win win situation!:p

I buy figures for her this year! She is the gf! Great way to look at it!

I've found it too hard to explain what it is we do, so if I get something for the hobby for Christmas, birthday, etc, I usually buy it, then get the money as the present.

Prost!
Brad

I tell my wife exactly what I want, and where and how to get it. For my 40th Birthday I got the K&C B-25 Doolittle Raider, for father's day this year I am getting the 1991 K&C Waterloo Chess Set . . . ask and you shall receive!:D;)

Hi Rob,

In my case, the answer to your question is yes, absolutely! What I do is somewhat similar to the strategy Louis described. I provide my wife with a list of figures/sets that I want. She, in turn, picks from my list without telling me what she has chosen, so the gift is always somewhat of a surprise. It works wonderfully for us.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Works the same for my wife - here is what I am interested in ( the list ;) ) and then call Tim Tyler.....except when Tim pushes something that isnt selling in his shop  ( little joke there - well sort of )

Most of the time - we have a very good arrangement with my entire family and Tim - he does take care of me. :D

Next Christmas we will have LIST CONTROL !
