I saw this movie. Great acting by Brian Cox but uncharacteristic of Churchill the man, I think. Lots of self-doubting etc
The actor playing Eisenhower looks Nothing like him at all. Monty is taller than Eisenhower?

I had also seen another Churchill movie (The Darkest Hour). Again, great acting by Gary Oldman but some fantasy scene in the Underground and fiction here disappoints.

Why are these films so full of myths?

It’s a pity that Brian Cox’s talent was wasted on such a bad movie about Churchill, which depicts a man very different, of whom the Prime Minister really was. I found the Darkest Hour much better, by far, than all movies about the British PM made till date. I do agree with you: Hollywood (or every other producing cluster) always attracts an artistic license to "tell a story", and most of the times overdoes the reasonable boundaries... The underground scene is too far fetched and taints what could have been otherwise an even much better movie without it.

I agree. I did not enjoy the Churchill movie starring Brain Cox. I haven't seen "The Darkest Hour" yet, but I hope it is better.

I definitely preferred Darkest Hour. Excellent performance by Gary Oldman with a probably more factual plot.
