I want to collect civil war figures but can't decide which way to go. CS has excellent poses and choice of subjects. Also, the sculpting of the faces has improved considerably which was one thing that in the past kept me away from CS. Recently, I've been considering the 14th Brooklyn but just noticed they are 54mm. I thought CS had switched to 60mm. I don't know why they chose 54mm. Can someone who has them please post some high quality close-up pictures of the 14th Brooklyn next to a K&C figure preferably CW if you have it? Thanks. Also, what is the free figure CS is offering in their ads?

( A subsidiary question is: are they real 54mm, like Frontline, or rather 57mm like W.Britain , too )

My guess is that they were made this size to fit in with other brands. I have collected Civil War figures for years, mostly Conte and Britains (some Frontline), and these have been the leading brands in that line of figures. If I were displaying larger 14th Brooklyn alone (which I really like), I wouldn't care, but if I were putting the 14th Brooklyn beside something like Iron Brigade figures from Conte, it wouldn't look quite right.

Business dictated that we " follow the leader " in existing genre pieces:

K&C has obviously been wildly successful with their WWII line so: we create only 60mm pieces that integrate nicely with their products. However we really thought that K&C didn't quite get it with their ACW line and looked to Britians as the manufacturer we'd most rather integrate with in regards to ACW.

We find that our ACW sets fit very nicely with Britians, and actually since K&C scale is somewhat inconsistant the pieces can fit with some of their fine collectables as well.

Hope that thelps.

Best regards,

Brian

I love my 14th Brooklyn. I consider them to be some of the best that Brian has ever made. They fit right in with the Conte and Britains. If you look at some of my other recent postings you will see them in the background. I will try and post some other pics of them in the dio soon.
