I have been posting photos and information about CJB Models on the Heco Tinplate Models thread, but now that I have 18 of these little masterpieces, I believe its time to launch a thread dedicated solely to Colin J. Burkill's work.
Mr. Burkill, whom I recently met via the internet, told me that he is presently 80 years old, and has retired from active production of his wonderful individually hand-cast models due to a shortage of materials. He informed me that he began selling his models in earnest when he took a table at a 1993 London Toy Soldier Show (so presumably he has been making the models since the late 1980's or early 1990's). It was at one of these London Shows that he met Dave Hazell, one of the proprietors of Henley Model Miniatures, who became a dealer of his models. It was Dave Hazell, from whom I had been purchasing Heco Tinplate Models, who introduced me to CJB Models, informing me that "quite simply, they are the finest, most accurate, reproductions of military vehicles ever made." I certainly concur with Dave's assessment.
While I have not yet obtained a definitive list of all CJB Models produced, below is the list of Mr. Burkill's products that I have been able to compile to date (the military models came in interwar home front markings [various shades of green], RAF markings and desert markings [although I am informed the RAF and desert versions are extremely rare]):
