Several years back,, I noticed that an old Andrea casting and thought that it would be suitable for a fig of Claudius. The Andrea head is quite small, early 1/35 size and with sculpted ears, would prob look like a young sickly boy. Been reading up on Claudius and he appeared to be somewhat disabled, the symptoms increasing in later life.

I have married the head to a cut down Preiser body and added Historex female nude legs. The pix show the size comparison to a typical 1/32 fig.

I'm sculpting a toga for him. Apparently a sickly child, he wasn't given a proper adult initiation ritual with a toga. This would have had him wearing a tunic before the toga wrapping ceremony.

More putty added for the toga. I am studying how togas were worn and using roman sculptures as models.

Almost done with the arms. Need to complete these before I sculpt the drapery.

Ive worked out how this toga was draped. Sculpting the back of the toga.

I pinned the feet for stability. Added more drapery.

I resculpted some of the crude toga with thin rolled out putty which were folded like drapery.
