I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place. Hopefully someone will let me know if I'm not.

Anyhow, I recently acquired a glossy K&C piece from overseas on ebay. The seller didn't mention anything wrong with it besides it having been displayed. Received the package and it's sticky, like sticky dirt. I'm assuming years of accumulated dust? Maybe grease? No clue whats wrong with it but I can't hold it without it practically sticking to my hand. Any thoughts on how this could be cleaned? Anyone else have any experience with this? Is it even possible that this CAN be cleaned? I'm afraid to do much to it for fear of damaging but in it's current condition I'm not sure it can get much worse. I've read about removing dust off of figures with make up brushes, but that just isn't going to cut it here. I'm sure the tip of the brush would get stuck to the figure.

I'd really appreciate any input

I would try dish detergent and water but not too much of either, with a soft cloth. If the paint should come off, I have an excellent repairman who is great with K & C. Out of curiosity, what piece is it, as I have many glossy pieces.

Oh boy, I wonder if it might be nicotine? I would use a very mild detergent and a super soft brush and try it first is an inconspicuos place. Like the bottom of the stand, where the silk screened K&C logo is printed. I had a similar problem a while back with the bottom of a stand sticking to the table after a few minutes of letting the figure stand there. It was residue from a price sticker. I gave it a shot of dull coat (Testors) from a spray paint can and it took care of the problem.
