If anyone is left at home, and cares, Turner Classic Movies is running a Clint Eastwood Marathon today, 5/31/10. All the classics are on, including Where Eagles Dare @ 5pm est, followed by Kelly's Heroes @ 8pm. The am and early afternoon are his Italian westerns and The Dirty Harry shows start at 12:30 am. Just in case you have nothing else on the agenda. -- Al

Now in Clint we are talking a real film legend!.From his Spaghetti westerns, through the Dirty Harry films,Unforgiven,Iwo Jima films,Gran Torino, whether he's acting or directing he is a God of cinema. Many lesser actors/directors could take many a lesson from him.:cool:

Agree with this. IMO Eastwood would have made Hollywood HOF on the strength of Unforgiven all by itself. Hard to find a better western. Easily on Top Ten list. The scene where he finds out his friend has been caught and murdered is chilling. One can see his whole body language and face change as the conversation goes on and he starts drinking. Great, great scene. "I wouldn't shoot you kid. You're the only friend I got." Wonderful movie. -- Al

Absolutely agree,classic Western.

In a similar chilling theme, compare the two 44 Magnum scenes in Dirty Harry, the first delivered with a wry smile, the second at the end of the film almost spat out with shaking anger, wonderful stuff.

Classey director and under rated actor for most of his career. It is very gratifying that he finally got his much deserved appreciation.
