Hi Guys,
Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional holiday in China, commemorating the death of patriotic poet minister Qu Yuan of the ancient state of Chu during the Warring States period of the Zhou Dynasty. As he shared opposite view against King’s decision, eventually, he was accused of treason and drowned himself in the Miluo River. People, who respected him, sailed their boats to retrieve his body. This is said to be the origin of dragon boat race and the festival.
The festival occurs on the 5th day of the 5th month of the traditional Chinese calendar which is 7 June 2019.
Please note: K&C office will be closed on 7 June (Fri) for public holiday. Operation will be resumed on 10 June (Mon).
