Oh! You are Morgan's friend Chuck. I asked Morgan to invite you over to my house for lunch, maybe this Friday. Are you available?

By the way, Morgan's cousin Mark Hoffman is also a really big collector, with the best artillery related collection I've ever seen.

Mark is joining Hans Larry and myself as the 4th sponsor of the NY Toy Soldier Symposium next year, and the attendees next year will be touring his rather amazing collection as well.

Hopefully, that will be during the weekend and not on a Monday.

Welcome to the forum Chuck. Remember it is a good idea to keep the wife happy.

Louis I would love to see some pictures of Mark's collection. Sound very interesting.

Sorry Old Guard,

I don't have any photos of Mark's collection. Maybe Brad took some.

Gosh, I wish I had because it's one incredible collection. I think I told this story before but when I attended the first Symposium I hadn't been collecting that long and it was just by accident that I got on Louis' email list. Anyway, after Andy gave his talk at Classic Toys, Louis suggested that I might want to go with Doug Luna to see Mark's collection while he was setting up at his apartment. I was blown away and I think Doug, another huge collector, who unfortunately hasn't made it to the last couple of Symposia, was impressed. Mark has his collection in his offices (and he has a few office) and he led us from office to office showing what he had, from this company or that company. If you ever get a chance to see it, you should.

Actually, Louis, I wouldn't mind going over there, maybe the next time Hans is in town, and taking a few photos, to post here. A collection like that needs to be shared with people who would appreciate them.

When Hans is coming in, I'll give Mark a call and set it up. Mark loves showing off his stuff as much as I do, so I suspect he will jump at the chance.

Welcome to the forum Chuck. It's good place to hang your hat if you love collecting TS like the rest of us.
Can't help you much on keeping the wife happy. I found a trip to Rome or London helps and so does a new car every now and then.

You will find a great bunch of people here have fun.

thanks chuck, and yes i love to collect, can't give the wife a bad rap she is very understanding......so far.she thought all the stuff was worthless until a year or so ago i sold some of the collection.......like an idiot, actually sold a few to you and i think a few other members under her ebay account
