As were now entering October just wondering if anyone has any news on the club figures?
Looking forward to receiving them as there's a couple I'm getting this year , as I only collect War Along the Nile and Napoleonics its been a quiet year so far.

had a message from the UK collectors club on September 15th, arriving in the UK in four weeks so that's October 13th.

My Zulu war figure "Desperate for Ammo" has just arrived.
Great facial expression you can see the stress on the little guys face !
Well done Ken !:salute::

Mine also arrived with a note that said that the 2017 club membership figures should follow shortly and will be with you in the next 6-8 weeks !!! So maybe in time for Xmas :rolleyes2::rolleyes2:

The evening event figure looks great and as it's now a Zulu wars figure instead of the Wrath of Northman figure originally slated for the event due to popular demand. I've ordered a ticket even though I won't be able to make the event ,just to get the figure !

I've done a scan of the photo so detail isn't crisp but it gives a good idea of the figure, I'm thinking it'll go well in a diorama with previous normal issue figures especially I'm thinking of the guy wiping sweat off his face and the guy waving his helmet as the relieve force comes into view over a mass of Zulu casualties.

I smiled when I saw this post, the poor delivery is the reason is basically stopped collecting WB, a related question is "When will the Standard be out and will it have the 2018 Club figures in it?"

Thanks for the info.

Sierra Toy Soldier seem to be showing late Nov/Dec for the new War Along The Nile range so I guess it will all turn up together.

This is in fact the 2017 evening event figure and it was originally designed to use with the three "Clearing the Yard" sets we released. The Norman Knight will be offered as a general release in the Wrath of the Northmen range in 2018. The Tel-el-Kebir figures should have arrived in the UK for distribution by now...the US will receive theirs a bit later as they are still in transit. The Standard has been printed here in the US and will be mailed soon, but I cannot speak for the mailing date in the UK...but I think you will agree that this is a very good issue when you get it if you are a collector's club member.
We also have some great one-of-a-kind conversions for the London evening event this year and I will start posting some images of these soon. See you in December!

That is a magnificent figure... Is there any way for those of us in King George III's former colonies to obtain this piece?

I think you will enjoy the quarterly magazine The Standard. I have over hauled it the last few years to be more of a history magazine the explains the research behind various figures and ranges to put the miniatures into context. There is certainly information on the figures both past and present, but there is also tips on repair and painting of your figures. We also have been featuring some museums we feel are worth visiting and receiving books that might be of interest.
The membership is year to year with all magazines for that calendar year being delivered to you no matter when you become a member...the example might be if you became a member in December of this year you would get all four issues for 2017.
With the membership you also get to choose one of the eight figures issued that year, or any other exclusive figure still in stock form previous years. You are not restricted to only the membership figure however, as you can purchase as many additional club figures you might wish to. On occasion we have also issued small sets or more complex figures that are also only available to our club members.
I think the 60 Treefrog members that attended this years customer appreciation event during the Chicago show can attest to the quality and diversity of subject matter we offer.
Thanks for considering us.

Ken,
A long time ago, I posted an etching of the aftermath of Rorke's Drift. It depicts a terrible scene that captures a profound idea about war. I posted it in the hope you would produce figures resembling it, and you eventually produced some excellent sets depicting the scene after the battle. That said, they did not feature the iconic British figure standing on top of the wall. As I do not collect Zulu, I did not purchase the sets. I will have to track them down now, because I am going to purchase this figure. Thank you for producing this subject.
Regards,
Sandor

Wow, that's some coincidence....

If these sets are based on a painting then the plant figure guys have nothing to complain about after all most inspiration for toy soldiers and military models comes from paintings and illustrations.
It would be a different story if there were no painting but as it there is so anyone can make a figure of it if they choose to.

There differences of the figures are obvious. The one on the left is a masterpiece and the one on the right looks like a cheap knock off toy.
