Colbert on ebay (1 Viewer)

Actually, there are a few FL figures now on eBay although the auctions may have ended in the last day or so.

When I receive a new FL figure, I litterally destroy the foam inside..

I mean I remove the 1st layer of foam, then 'extract' the second layer containing the figure carefully from the box then I cut in pieces that foam in order to access the figure .... I don't know how I could repack a FL figure in order to get shipped ? Maybe I should be more careful in preserving the foam :)

Anyway I'm not selling any !

Alex

So far I have not missed any of the First Legion figures that have been retired Thank God, therefore I have no interest in looking to ebay . I do think the small dio that my friend artmabigor posted is well done though thanks for posting the link . I sure hope First Legion does not start attracting the speculators who may start to smell a dollar  All the best Gebhard

I think FL does, as do the other manufacturers, a great job in insulating their products from damage. Figarti, in this regards, has improved their packing tremendously such that I no longer am concerned when receiving something. K & C has always done a super job in packaging their product for delivery.

I hope not.

As I have alluded elsewhere, this is a hobby for me - to enjoy and not to speculate by playing the "buy high to sell higher" game.

I have no intention to chase after prices.

"Speculators" may find it difficult to abuse prices of FL figures on e-bay;)....Most "collectors" who collect First Legion really love the products and have no intention of selling them......I sincely hope that First Legion makes their figures readily available to the many who love their products....One of the many reasons for me collecting MUCH LESS K/C is because of "retired products game" which fosters the entrance of speculators and ruins the fun of this hobby.....However my main reason for collecting FL is the higher level of quality.....Thank you First Legion....Better Products readily accessible to purchase at retail prices

Sold without a box from Paris. That's the first time I see one first legion figure on ebay... I wonder what could happen to this figure without it's box during shipping. Hope the seller packs it pretty well..

Cheers,

Alex
I have bought many FL figures second hand and all have arrived in great shape. I have also shipped a fair number across the Atlantic for conversions and received them all back in fine shape. Most of those have been shipped in the original foam cutouts and boxes but some have been repackaged so I wouldn't worry about that if the seller is careful.

I have seen a number of FL figures on Ebay but mostly they have gone above retail (with shipping included) or were things I was well stocked on already so were of no interest.

The first 3 sold examples are above original retail, which has been my experience as I noted. The NAP0058 figure was a good deal. The open bids mean nothing since many of us don't bid until the last seconds.;)

Well...I was the buyer of the NAP0058 and a couple of others in this sale, but all significantly below retail. With this kind of sale (shipping of $8), you really have to commit to purchasing a few pieces to make it cost effective with combined shipping. But, I am with you, I don't get the bidding above retail...even the "new" retail prices on these figures....crazy.

That's Ebay for you. I find the same thing on various items I bid on from time to time, like Blu-ray movies, which are heavily discounted by dealers. Many bidders do not do their homework so I lose a lot of bids but then if I wanted an item at retail I would buy it from a dealer.

As another example of the irrationality of Ebay bidding, NAP0056 is now at $42, with $8 shipping, which is over the expected retail cost of the re-issue version. I guess someone doesn't want to wait.;)

I think people like us, the crazed collectors who are on this Forum, do a lot of research and know where you can purchase things and how much it will cost us. However, there are a lot of people who aren't as aware and are sometimes surprised when you point out the company website to them where it can be purchased cheaper.

I could also be a spouse or relative that is doing the bidding as a gift for a collector. They may not be aware of the website/dealers/collectors that we have at our disposal. Also I have found that when buying for a loved one cost isn't always and issue.

Certainly true. That is good for sellers; hard for buyers.:) It is also another reason I like buying things here and Blu-rays from Blu-ray.com. The most fair exchanges are between knowledgeable people.

I have found when buying for a loved one, cost is ALWAYS an issue! :) Maybe they are trying to reach their spousely minimum!
