Here are a few pictures of the up and coming Empress Dragoons for those who couldnt make it to the london show on saturday. These soldiers will be on sale in time for the next London show in early April or available from the web site in late March7.jpg8.jpg9.jpg

Thanks for showing us the images of the new troops.

They look good, especially the sappeur :)

Any chance of some close up shots ???

These look very good.I will certainly be interested in them.Just one small point-the horses are all wearing breast-bands-two leather straps attached to the saddle which join, usually at a metal ring on the horses chest, the idea being to prevent the saddle slipping backwards during exertion, usually seen today on showjumpers or cross country event horses.Cavalry horses would certainly have worn them. Now there should be a third strap joined to the ring on the horses' chest and running back between the front legs and joined to the saddle girth under the horses' belly to prevent the breast bands rising up to press on the neck and windpipe.I note that the officer's horse has this, but not the others.Privilege of rank?

Good observation. It was only high ranking officers who had this extra strap. You can check any number of books on the subject Knotel or Rossoulet are a good source of information on French cavalry.

That will be great, because I did check your website, but that's not been revised yet, including the costs.

John

John I won't be able to get the pictures up until tomorrow. I have not put the prices and pictures on the web site yet because they are not due until March so it would be a bit early to do so.

The prices are going to be very competitive.
