I was curious as to if most members collect their figures 1 of each or duplicate multiples of the same figure? As for myself i try to get one of each and if i ever get caught up or ahead of the game i might duplicate, but do to economics haha i never seem to reach that point. Rob

I usually only collect one of a kind, but on ocassion when I am puting together a small diorama, I will buy duplicates. It's rare that I buy every single piece, as my collecting is restricted to certain areas, and within those areas, I like/dislike certain figures.

I agree Dick. I am trying to plan out my collection around the space I have available and then the dioramas I want to permanently display. In years past, it didn't make much sense to me to buy duplicates but now, with the single and even 2 man teams, it is more achievable. There are several marching troops- like WS92 I think is one that I like in multiples. The biggest part of my collection that is in multiples is the AWI. It is nice to do ranks with those.

This strategy applies to any collector, not just KC

I am more of a completest, so I try to get 1 of each of those that I collect. However, some of my dioramas call for duplicates, so I do have some of those!

I am constrained by money, space, and a short attention span in my collecting. I never buy multiple identical figures from a range; I like some and dislike some. Typically, I will continue to buy from a range until the set-up I have looks balanced (or cluttered) and then I will move on.

Duplicates for Napoleonic, AWI, and Romans as these types of armies tended to fight in linear formations so multiples work well for dioramas. WWII, I tend to stick with single sets/vehicles although on ocassion I will buy 2 of a vehicle or figure to get the look I want for a diorama.

Along a similar line does anyone always buy a certain type of vehicle no matter how many different variations you already have? Calling all Shermaholics or Tigerphiles:).

I buy duplicates to complete a diorama or because I really like the figure and I post it in different shelves. The hard part is buying all from one range. JUst when I am getting close to catching up with all the figures in one range, new ones are released. But I am not complaining. I love this stuff.

My life is nothing but - DUPLICATES !!!

As a Napoleonic Collector and a AWI Collector - you have to have firing lines and marching advance lines - not to mention squares, several artillery sets and the large calvary charges....ugh

OH HOW I LOVE IT THOUGH ! :D

My WWI Collection is 15 Germans Marching, 5 Standing at attention, 4 Collector Club, 2 Flags and 2 Drummers - being reviewed by all the single figures and the new Armor Car as well. :)

Ooppss......

I forgot the ROMANS as well - many Marching figures through the streets of Rome - with several Color Bearers and Horn Blowers. :)
