Hi, I have a collection of Britain's toy soldiers handed to me from my grandfather. He was a big collector, and he has in his collection the Queen's coronation. I need help! I would like to put them on display at a museum. Does anyone know who I should contact? I am in Southern California. Thanks in advance.

Hi Georgina,

You should contact the folks at Britains, they may be able to help you. I would talk to Mr Richard Walker he is a member here so you could send him a PM via the Forum. Or you can contact them at:

www.wbritain.com

They may be of some assistance.

All the best

Dave

Thank you, Dave. I appreciate it. I couldn't find Richard Walker in the member list. Do you have his user name? Thanks.

Georgina,

He goes by WBritain in this forum.

You might also want to contact Craig McClain at Old Toy Soldier Home. His phone number is 760 758 5481, his email is oldtoysoldierhome@earthlink.net and his address is 977 South Santa Fe Ave., Suite 11, Vista, CA 92083.

Also contact ucla1967 on this forum. He lives in Southern California.

Brad is absolutely correct; Craig McClain is the guy that can definitely help you.

You mention that the collections includes the coronation set -- do you mean set no. 2081? If it is, as a collector of old Britains, i was wondering if you have any thoughts about possibly selling the set?

Hi Georgina:

Craig Maclain of the Old Toy Soldier Home is an awfully good guy with a wonderful shop in Vista, he might have some ideas about local venues. As for museums, it depends on what the collection consists of. A local library, historical society or military museum (Camp Pendleton?) might be intrested - it would depend heavily on the curator (warning - sadly many in this field do not really appreciate our "toy" soldiers).

If I can be of any further assistance please let me know.

Best Regards,

Richard Walker

Georgina,

Good luck. Let us know if we can be of any more help. If you have a chance, we'd love to see photos of your grandfather's collection.

Yes! This is definitely something that I need to do. It is a pretty exciting collection.
