Collectors of the Middle Ages (1 Viewer)

Hey gang:

I have noticed over the years that there is a decent group of collector's of the period of the Middle Ages. It seems like there is a lot of interest in the Crusades, curious what it is about this period that you find particularly interesting and worthy of collecting??

i used to collect Britains Knight of Agincourt but passed them on to my daughter. They are a fun line- even though the poses don't really change, the colors get shaken up and the glossy coloring really brings forth the innocence.

I had collected Conte's Vikings back 8-10 years ago. I really think Conte did a nice job with all those Vikings figures. Poses were very dramatic and the castle was a great piece.

Crusades- not really a period I know a lot about. Tried to get into it but just didn't pan out.

Otherwise, the one era of this time period I would collect, hands down, would be the Bannockburn, Scottish wars with the Plantagenets.

Anyone else wish to share their passion for all things "Middle Aged" :tongue:

Chris I went crazy for the crusades after Kingdom of Heaven came out.Started to buy KC's crusades line but switched to FIW after I first saw Jenkins line.Paid $1800 for a kit called "The Siege" then realized I would never have the money to have this put together and painted plus bought other crusader kits.Collected Vikings for a couple years,Had 20+ figures painted and mounted including a 12 figure vignette and yes I bought Andrea's Viking ship which would have cost a mere $3000 to have done (much cheaper than "The Siege").Collected some of Conte's new Viking range including viking ship #2 but I have gotten rid of them all.

I strated collecting the Agincourt figures from Forward March (started by Richard Walker, now with Britains).

Then Britains continued the series and I also continued collecting until I just added the last mounted knight several months ago. I believe this is the only series that I have every figure pruduced. These figures are all in the matte finish.

Britains also has a gloss finish series of which I have several figures, but I don't collect these anymore.

I wish Britains would consided revisiting the matte series again and make more french figures. When all the figures are displayed together the sides are about even, where as in the real battle the English were vastly outnumbered.
