:) Hello! Just received Notification on the New Toy Soldier Production , from Collector's Showcase: An DAK ARTILLERY with 6-Figures; an 88th Gun with Crew-----A DAK Motorcycle Team w/Sidecar-----DAK Infantry-----PAK 40-Anti-Tank Gun Team---and they are debating a MG Team and Mortar Team, forDAK! They will be Showing the NEW Sets, due for release in Late September 2006; the U.S. Airborne and Waffen Sets, and also what they're coming out for Spring 2007 ! Including NEW Armor for 2007!

They just issued an un-authorized charge on my card which I now have to dispute and cancel the card itself.

Be carefull with these guys. I hope others have better experiences but Njja and myself have been badly burned.

John Special Favor......Quit Posting Stuf On These Crooks!

So far both Gideon and I have had to cancel credit cards because these

Guys have put through unauthorized charges!

Lets not encourage anyone else getting cheated!

Special Favor!

We all need to stick together, and not let other members get cheated.

For general info Collector's Showcase is running a full page ad in the November 2006 issue of WWII History. They may be a regular but this is the first time I've noticed it. My subscription is about up for renewal. I think I will drop them a note about one advertisers.

Thank you very much Chuck.

As John said, we should band together so they don't pull this on anyone else.

What is Showcases background, where do they operate out of and will they be at OTSN?
I certainly will never buy from them directly after receiving the above info.

If you do a search, there have been a few threads about them. I've never seen the figures in person but they're not sculpts apparently. They make them from computer renderings. Also, they were at the London Toy Show earlier this year and one member said they seemed bigger than K & C and probably not compatible.

Re: My Personal Opinion on " NEW"Collector's Showcase Co.

:) Hello Again! I have not seen Collector's Showcase Figure's in person yet? A few Guys has told me that they were Burn't, in Dealing Directly; with this Company? I understand that Michigan Toy Co., has become a Dealer, to sell Collector Showcase's Inventory? I also, was told that the Figure's is Exactly or Same Size as King and Country? But, if you Noticed lately, Andy's figure's are getting SMALLER! If you don't beleive me , that some of the Guy's , just Received their FOB and WS HOTCHISS Gun? I have been Collecting K & C for ( 8-Years); and have quite a Collection , of the K & C OLD Retired Excellent Figure's and Vehicles; and their is a Big DIFFERENCE in Size? I like 1/30th Scale and ONLY Collect this Size! So, If Collector's Showcase, is Little Larger in Size, then I want to Collect them! I would ONLY BUY Collector's Showcase Figure's, from a Dealer who is Trustworthy, Not Directly from the Company itself ! Thankyou!

Rick Berry of Michigan Toy Soldier posted this message in the Toy Soldier Chat forum:

As to Collector's Showcase they are still an unknown quantiy. The communication has been very good from them so far. I guess we all have to wait until the Chicago show to see what's really going on with them. As a note here is the email from CS when I tried to clarify the scale of their figures
See you in Chicago!

>>>>Brian,
There is a lot of confusion by collector's over just what scale your metal
figures are.

Are they scaled to King & Country size or to Britains size?
>>> Answer: The figures are a hair larger than K&C, and I do mean a hair. I will have boxed sets pulled from our near completed run from Hong Kong just for the Chicago show. So all will be made very clear at that time: they look great!

Also we will be previewing: DAK 88mm w.crew, DAK Kettenrad, DAK Rommel + Adj.,DAK Attacking Infantry and debut our ACW series too. So we'll have alot to show.

Besides Michigan Toy Soldier, the Old Toy Soldier Home in CA also has Collectors Showcase. Given the warnings from John (njja) and Gideon, it appears the safest course of action if you are interested in these figures is to purchase them from one of these dealers, not directly from the manufacturer.:)

Guys

NOt had an issue with the credit cards with these guys (used to buy the busts they did)

The figures were on show at our show in London, so seen them first hand

Unbias feedback.......................

Likes, i like the action poses and the small scenes they have set up.
I like the way they are done by the computer and talking to the guys them selves very interesting way it is done.
I like the modern battle figures they have done.
dislikes, all the figures have a very Haunting face, they look like they are out of a horror film or been on low rations for a while.
They are also on the skinny side.
All the uniforms are on the washed out side slightly.

Look good in general but they will not match K&C if you placed them next to each other. I have done so at the show!!!! (benifit of being a show owner, you can walk around when everyone else is gone and check things out!!)

Gents,

I'm with Tony on this one.

When I saw them at the London show, I thought they looked a bit bigger than K&C. The figures themselves have a dark wash and also as Tony says, they do have a haunting look and so are not compatible with the three 1/30 scale companies.

I might have another look later though, after buying all the HB,K&C,NMA and Britains stuff that I want.

Okay.......so I won't.

Rgds

:) Hello Andy! What would you consider a Bit Bigger Size of Collector's Showcase? Is the Scale 1/25? The Faces of what I, have seen in their Brochure does look mean and they were Fighting Machines; but that was just the way the SS was in WW2! They had No Feelings for anyone! My Father was 101St Airborne ( Band-of-Brothers), and fought these Guys in BASTOGNE! I don't mind collecting , a Little bit Larger Figures, because I have been Collecting TAMIYA 1/25, and are hoping they will continue to make more Figure's! CHOW!

john

One other observation i made (anybody can agree or disagree) is that all the shin bones of the figures seam to be out of proportion compared to the rest of the figure. I like them but they are a stand alone not a mix in with 1/30 figure. I think what i am saying is that they should try their own category rather than trying to market on the back of the competitive 1/30 scale.

If i had my own manafaturing soldier business i would come in at a level that nobody else is, but take all the ideas that have worked. That said i dont have my own manafaturing business................so i will shut up lol:)

Tony

I also saw them in London and didn't like the faces either, sorry John but for me it wasnt the lean and mean look at all. They looked too grey and zombie like for me,even a soldier who has been through hell still has to have a human look even if its gaunt and drawn. But for me these looked like they had risen from the grave.Maybe they will improve as they go,but have heard so many horror stories about the company i would only consider buying in person and in cash anyway.
