College Hoops, it's March (1 Viewer)

Back from Coral Gables, where I watched the Canes' last second win over VT! The win put us in third place in the ACC (Thanks, Duke!), while a loss would have dropped us to 8th! Thats quite the parity in our conference!

The NCAA Tourney may take 9 or 10 ACC teams. Too many. UVA is a legitimate 1 seed (but with no chance to win), UNC just doesnt have the athletes, Duke is unspectacular and will rely on a favorable draw and refs, NC State and Clemson are wild and inconsistant, and us Canes have no half court offense, no defense, cant play against a zone or hit free throws and our best (only) elite player is out for the season.

Really, if Fonzie is all he's hyped to be, Notre Shame could be a longshot to go far in the tourney (IF they take a 7-11, 13th or 14th place team based upon him being out all year)

Havent paid much attention to other conferences. I think the B10 teams are over rated, as well as the B12 and the SEC looks to have a very down year.

So, who's the teams to look out for?

Yeah, I have next to zero interest in the tournament this year. College basketball and their "one and one" rule is a farce, what's the point of going to college for a year and then to the draft, just go right out of high school then and get it over with.

I used to care, but I no longer do.

Interesting take that the refs help out Duke; Duke wins because they have hands down the best men's basketball coach and they recruit better than anyone, the refs have nothing to do with that.

Coach K is amazing, have to give credit where credit is due.

I'm a Kentucky/Michigan/Oklahoma fan, only Michigan who is currently on a roll has a shot to make some noise.

We finish THIRD in the ACC, and we get UNC in the first round of the ACC Tourney?

Contemptible! Rascalism at its finest! This is as arbitrary as it is capricious! I demand justice!

Truly no justice! You NEVER want to be the obstacle to a Duke vs UNC prime time matchup! We were assaulted! I mean assaulted!


On a happier note, my OTHER Alumn (alumnus? alumni? alumn?), the Arkansas Razorbacks, took up the mantle of the Righteous, Penitent and Holy, defeating the Hordes of Satan (Florida Gators) last night.

Dang it, Mayne! We had UNC!

There IS no basketball! The sport is dead to me!

Freshman Walker, with the lead and the ball with 20 seconds left, DRIBBLES OUT OF BOUNDS! THEN, with a 1 point lead, 9 seconds left, MISSES THE FRONT END OF A 1 AND !!

THEN, as a final "Screw You!" to Canes fans, announces he's going pro!

Good riddance! I hope his mother......it's better not to talk about his mother, never mind.

And Huel! 5 point lead, and twice he gets the ball under the basket for a dunk, and loses the ball!

If I had me druthers, the entire team would be arrested, charged with crimes against humanity, and sent to the uranium mines! (we have uranium mines, right?)

My only consolation? I was 16 for 16 in my bracket! (yes, I picked the Canes to lose, and also called the phony Arizona loss). So, I'm still alive for 1 million dollars! Think I'll start writing checks now, as its as good as mine?
