Hello: Folks
Back in the 60's while playing with my Battleground playset, I loved watching the Combat! tv series. Sgt. Saunders, Lt. Hanley, Cage, Kirby, Little John, Doc, Ect: I think it would be a great idea for some manufacturer to make a limited edition commerative set of these characters. I know they were fictional, and most manufactures like factual history & details" which is most important". But I am sure watching this show gave a lot of you guys a jump start to playing with & collecting toy soldiers. I think a company like KING & COUNTRY would do a great job at creating detailed figures of this subject for fun & turn a profit for them, and maybe lead to doing more figure series based on popular movies or shows of the past. Any Feedback on this subject?
Regards.

I loved "Combat" and it is still my all time favorite show. Never missed an episode and I own the whole series on DVD. So would I like a set of the show's personalities? That is a resounding YES! -- lancer

I had a game back then based on Combat.I loved the show too.

I had the Combat game too! The Combat show was one of my favorites, when growing up. I bought a DVD a few years back. The episodes had great action in the beginning, but kind of petered out in the main plot. I didn't buy another one. Great memories though.

Sounds like you guys grew up with combat, like my dad did; but he raised me right, so I grew up watching the re-runs. But when I was a kid, I had the airfix figures, too bad conte wasn't making his stuff back then. It seems like Marx was top-dog back in the 60's, but I grew up on the recast sets. One Christmas I got the Marx tin alamo, another I got fort apache. I know that they aren't the best figures on the market now, and I know we're separated by several generations, but I understand the nostalgia with these old sets and these old TV shows, technically we both grew up with them, and things from your childhood can never be replaced. I know probably a lot of collectors would like to see companies like K&C to do Combat figures, but I think your best bet is to flood Ron Barzso with interests in a Combat set. I know they'd be unpainted plastic, but he seems to be on a path of making TV-show based sets, like Daniel Boone, and now Zorro. Heck, in his Zorro set, he even had a movie crew sculpted.
