Tomorrow I will post some comparison shots of Hawker Hurricanes (K&C from the 1990's and 2010's in mahogany and from the 2000's in polystone), Fairey Swordfish (K&C from the 1990's and 2010's in mahogany), Sopwith Camels, Fokker DR1's, Spads, and De Haviland Tiger Moths.

Lovely collection of planes Louis. Wondering if the Junkers Heco could be angled slightly more inward with the tail hard up against the side wall in an effort to get as much of the wing span back from the overhang, although I can see it will still will need to fall outside the terrain board. Think this would help to tie in the overall look with the base, be that it will be tight and cramped to some degree. Really nice aircraft. Robin.

Nice photos Louis. I assume the Heco are the ones hanging from the ceiling. Which do you prefer, the K & C ones or the Heco ones?

Brad,

I really don't have a preference. I think they are both excellent handmade models that were about as good as it got in the 1990's. The new K&C and Thomas Gunn models are superior, and you should post a photo of your newer K&C Gloster Gladiator, which is about as good as it gets today.^&cool^&cool^&cool^&cool

Personally I prefer the HECO as I collect traditional gloss painted figures in the old hollow cast style and from the outset HECO were designed to fit in with these, also I never really cared for the silver painted solid cockpits of many competitors. However, it cannot be denied that the new ranges of King and Country, John Jenkins and Thomas Gunn and others are more detailed, often works of pure beauty and I cannot deny that I spend much time at the London Shows marveling at their latest creations (particularly JJD), but secretly glad I stick to my guns and remain loyal to the traditional style HECO albeit they hard to find (which adds to the fun) but ultimately help keep my finances in order and my collection in harmony.

My pleasure. I have over 100 K&C and about another 80 Heco Tinplate warbirds on display. It’s fun to pull a few out and take some photos.
