This just arrived here at the New Hampshire* Naval Yard this morning.

*Portsmouth, NH Naval Yard was used heavily in both the Civil War and Spanish American War

The Confederate set now joins the Union set I received in March. I hope to have another glossy Civil War naval set from another maker later this month.

Hey Randy, that's cool stuff. Did you order that directly from Tradition. Do you have link to the Union Navy? I might like to order that myself :)

I got the sets from Stan Clark (scmb@earthlink.net) who carries the Tradition Civil War sets at the Gettysburg Antiques Center. Stan is great to deal with and is a Civil War book dealer as well as toy soldier source.

Here is the info from Tradition's Website

Very nice, Randy! Tradition's castings are excellent.

I prefer to paint my own, though. These poor tars look like they've just come out of action, all their eyebrows have been burnt off while manning the gun! ^&grin

Prost!

Set 907 looks very nice. I've always been fascinated by the history/voyage of CSS Shenandoah. It's been a long time since I purchased glossy figures but Tradition of London seems very special to me. I like seeing the posts so thank you for sharing.

Randy,

Thanks for sharing your new Tradition Confederate Navy set.

I still have a preferrence for glossy figures, despite having acquired an appreciation for matte figures too.

Raymond:).

Beautiful figures, Randy. I'm a big fan of Tradition, too. They have great FIW and Crimean War sets as well. :salute::

Thanks for posting the cartoon.

Given Waddell's attacks on the US whaling fleet, perhaps Greenpeace or the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society can also lay claim to an early hero!

Not too many Confederate Navy sets at all. Come to think of it , not too many Union Navy sets either.
