Thought I'd break the suggestion embargo:D:D:D:D
Figure LAH style , figures representing the leaders at the yalta/tehran conferences or the cairo conference with the chinese Chiang Kai-shek , would be interesting, be good to see other nations strutting their ceremonial stuff other than the jerries, my own favourite though would be the previously suggested red square victory parade though

You might be able to put together a scene now, with figures from various manufacturers, but you're right, no one right now makes a series of that particular subject.

There is a set of Roosevelt, Churchill and Stalin at Yalta, all three seated. They've been available from various Russian dealers, in different levels of quality. I remember first seeing them in mail-order catalogs I used to get of Russian/Soviet-era items, back in the late 90's or early 00's. There were figures, painted to the "Chinese" standard, in and among Red Army and DDR surplus gear and matryushka dolls. But lately I've seen those figures only as connoisseur figures (and there, more expensive). Most recently, a picture of the three was included in an article on Churchill in Toy Soldier & Model Figure. That particular set was offered by AeroArt.

Prost!
Brad

I have two of the three figures (FDR and Churchill). Pierre has the Stalin.

These are the figures Aeroart sold for a while. They are lifelike - I picked up all three:

I always wondered why Winston Churchill wore uniforms so often as Prime Minister. Can anyone enlighten me?

Hi Guys,

Prime Minister Churchill often wore military uniform because he had several important honorary connections…

1. As an honorary colonel of the 4th Hussars (his old Regt.)

2. As an Air Commodore (Royal Auxiliary Air Force) he also had links with, I think , 615 Squadron Royal Aux. Air Force.

3. He did wear a nautical style uniform (K&C did him in this uniform) because of another honorary post as Admiral of the Cinque Ports and Trinity House. During the First World War and before he became PM in the Second he was also First Lord of The Admiralty.

4. Plus I think he liked wearing uniform… after the exciting life he had led I think he was more than entitled to wear them…

Hope this helps… Best wishes,

Andy C.

Interesting to note how closely the Russian figures compare to the picture - down to the chairs which are different styles for each of the three and the way that Stalin has crossed his fingers. The only slight differences that I can make out are 1) that Roosevelt has on glasses and there is something on his pinkie finger (ring?) in the picture; and 2) the design on Stalin's cap is a bit off. Otherwise these are fantastic reproductions.

These sit on a self in my office at work......picked them up at OTSN 2 years ago...probably the last deal I found at the show!

Great conversation pieces...."Why do you have Stalin in your office???" :D
