Does anybody have both Conte Alamo plastics and K&C Alamo metal figures so they can post a picture or two of them side by side. I would really like to see and hear comments from other members about this.

How is this? Conte Plastic next to a K&C repainted Alamo as Voltiguers. Sorry took the picture then realised it was K&C:eek:

That was really ugly. I repainted the Conte

Thanks KV for the pics and Gary who sent me some pics also. That's what I needed.

Alex If I remember correctly didn,t Kings X toy soldiers the store K&C bought out have a big alamo diorama with K&C and conte mexicans mixed together?
I remember seeing photos of this diorama posted somewhere here on this forum of the diorama. Does anyone remember where on the forum this was posted?

Must resist Alamo.
Anyone know about the ACW KC figs? Can someone post an image of one next to a Britians and or Conte please.

Yes I posted that and those were the Conte metal ones but I was wondering if the plastic ones were different in size. The difference seems a bit noticeable so I might have to strategically place them. :)

The bodies seem to be close to the same size on both figures but the conte heads are on the small side and K&C seem to always have heads that are on the large side.
If it wasn,t for the head sizes on the figures they would look great together!

I feel some conversions coming on.

Hi,

Why barrel bands on the muskets? I know the Mexicans were carrying British Brown Bess's which were held together with pins under the barrel through the stock. I have quite a few Contes which are molded with Brown Bess's. Are barrel bands molded onto the King and Country Mexicans?

Not trying to be picky, just curious.

I thought they were using French surplus?

They had the British Brown Bess and Bakers rifles, they may have dressed French, but they used British weapons.

They had Bakers? Lucky sods.

Also figured out that I cast some French heads that are larger than the Conte Alamo Mexican troops. Going to try some out and see how they look.

Some did, mostly Brown Besses though.

That should be interesting, post some pictures when you're done.
