Thought i might share these Conte Germans that i just painted.
not sure if i used the right grey color? but they look good enough for me.
These will be used for a future (a few years of) Citadel "battle of Kursk"

They look good to me also Rob and it's always nice to see the results of your paint brush at work.

Yes, the colour you have used looks OK to me, and I do like your choice of the cam jacket and helmet cover. I didn't use a textured base on my set, the first ones Conte produced, but some makers are doing that now, so you choice looks good too.

Well done,

John

How does your paint job hold up on the flexible details like weapons? Use anything special as a base or overcoating?

Many thanks John and Scott.
Scott i use a cheap tube of black craft paint that i buy from the hardwere store.
I use this as a primmer as it has a rough surface when dry i know most guys prefer spray cans but i hate using them...so i just brush the black on.

For painting figures i just use Vallejo paints and to tell you the truth i have never had a problem with flakeing.
I have bent some plastic swords and the paint still holds i have also dropped plenty of figs on a hard surface.
and to my surprise there is no damage on the paint work.
I also use the brush on matt Varnish by Vallejo its not pure matt but close enough.
Cheers
Rob.

That sounds good. I've hesitated to paint my Conte Normans and Vikings because of the flexible swords and other features. Thank you.

Ragnar, I think you did a great job, I really like the bases also. Here are some I did way back,
