Conte-Omaha Beach Release Date, when???? (1 Viewer)

Anybody know when this release will happen? Anyone have any secret information to share with us all?

Carlos, how long have you been following Conte? I,ve been there since day 1, the adds in PFPC, the upcoming playsets he had listed on his origional web site. What, maybe 10% of his future releases actually happened.
If you remember he was talking of an Omaha Beach set as far back as 2000.
At this juncture I pay ABSOLUTLY no attention to his so called upcoming sets.
He promotes his product the way you are not suppose to do it.
I really believe the reason he does not attend OTSN anymore is the fact he don,t want to take the heat about all his unfullfilled promises.
Oh yea and the fact he hates the Hyatt because a bell hop talked badly to him, remember that fiasco.
Now having bad mouthed him,he absolutly produces the best plastic soldiers ever produced, I guess that,s why it gets under my skin.

was having items made for his personal collection. It was suggested that

some of these items could be produced for sale. It became an operation, but

problems with production and other related issues related to bringing items

to market caused delays. As new items were created for his personal

collection there was less interest in bringing them to the public.

I am not speaking for Mr. Conte who I have never met, just relating a story

I was told, and using comom sense. Once wealth is attained, the pursuit of

even more wealth may lose some of its luster.......perhaps not for Donald

Trump......but for many others.

even understand how it should go!

On the old web site it pretty much said similar things. It wasnt about his personel wealth but that he decided to create the toys he wished he had, had as a child.

Just been on Conte's site and they've got details of pricing, delivery, contents and 'specials' for the the first two Omaha sets

Both initially going for $300 a piece which will include one of the landing craft in each, various beach obstacles, 100 GIs and 40 Germans (doesn't specify which, but it would appear they'll be from the sets already available.

They're stating that the sets will be limited to 333 of each and have different coloured plastics for the GIs. Sets will be shipped at the beginning of October

Now, where's that Visa card, or did the other half cut it up on finding the last statement....

I will be buying one or more of these sets. Richard Conte's letter regarding this set is very well written and he convinced me. They do make the finest injection molded plastic figures on the planet. I look forward to seeing them at OTSN this weekend...

Here's a picture of the display in Conteco's room. Beefed up Playsets 1 and 2 with bonus sets mixed in and some samples of Playset 3. The figures in Toy Soldier Green and Brown are limited edition color figures.

Many thanks for the photos. I'm just trying to work out how to sneak 2 x 3foot x 2 foot x 2 foot boxes in to the house without bing seen and then I'll be ordering.

Any chance of close ups of the figures and also are the germans included in the playsets from the first 4 sets or are they new also?

Now if I tried a mass purchase of shoes and handbags for her, at the same time as the delivery, then......mmmmm. Sounds like a strategy to me
