It is being reported on another board that Conte, through a few dealers, will have for sale at OTSN about 100 sets of his new plastic GI,s. These figures are the same poses that ONTC and Valiant do in metal.
There are in this series about 27 different GI,s and SS, however only about 16 poses will be available for sale, while others will be just for display.
All could be available by December.
If this in fact happens, yahoo, but as of now, I,m from Missouri, Show Me.
For you that don,t know "Show Me" is the state motto.
Gary

Okay , I'll bite. Which dealer? I am assuming it will be ONWTC or Michigan toy soldiers.I got a dealer update today claiming the same thing.
Looks like I'll have to stock up on some WW2 colors again.
GI's are not as easy to paint as a lot of people think.
FUBAR

The only dealer mentioned by name is Hobby Bunker.
I,m skertical about them being at the show as from what I gather they are not in the States yet, either en route or still in China.
I,m sure Conte will not be at OTSN.
How could one of the biggest producers of soldiers not be in attendance at the worlds largest show escapes me. Not really I have my thoughts on that.
Gary

Conte will not be there. A few issues with the Hotel back in 2003 and they said they would not come back. Their last update explains they are leaving it up to the dealers{ of which I am one} to carry the load and they wont be there to compete with them.
I am going to wander endlessly.I coudn't sit still in a room for 3-4 days as a dealer.
I guess I better start getting ready. The only other time I went I shipped all my luggage ahead UPS.Made it a lot easier getting in and out of Airports, ect.

A moth ago I couldn't think of hardly a thing I wanted to bring back. Now as the show gets nearer I have all kinds of ideas !

FUBAR ;)

Fubar, do you for one minute believe that hotel story from a couple years bacK?
It is a shame because Contes room at OTSN was always my favrite.
Gary

Yeah buddy I believe it.
R Conte told me this to MY FACE at the show 2 years ago .He was more than a little ticked off at the Organizer and the hotel for many reasons. He had other issues with someone there I won't mention.
It's up to them to be present at the show or not and with the BS he told me occured in 2003 I wouldnt have been happy at all.
Have you another theory that this gullable Okie will swallow hook line and sinker???

Fubar, I,m not one of those Conte bashers, I love what he has done for this hobby. But what I think is #1, the times he has been at OTSN he brings a large entourage, which is very expensive, #2, I don,t think he wants to stand up to the heat of all his unfullfilled promises. Therefore a minor tiff with a bell hop and a dispute with the organizer, I believe over the door giveaways, is a good excuse not to come.
If he and the organizer don,t get along, there is nothing that says he must set up at the show, just open his rooms up.
Since 1999, when he first debuded his line, going to his room, looking at upcoming products was the highlite of my trip to Schaumburg.
Again, I,m not bashing him, I wish he would come. As stated before I have everyone of his playsets and will buy all of his upcoming sets.
See you in Schaumburg.
Gary

Yep, He's cheap and scared of the heat too.I wish they would be there too.

Here is an exerpt from a Hobby Bunker newsletter:
We are also pleased to announce that we will be representing Conte Collectibles at the Show. We will have an Exclusive on Alamo Playsets #6 And #7. We will also have piles of plasctic Mexicans for sale. A total of 8 different blister cards all together. Also with a little luck we will have about 100 sets of brand new sculptings of World War II GI's available to view and to purchase. Come by the room and we will also be able to show you some resin prototypes uf some future releases.

Theres more images on their website including 10 of 25 new Germans. :D

Fubar, I just found them also! If only we can do something so RC drops everything and gets these done. These are fantastic.
Gary

The GI's look great and on the german side there are some new molds but a lot of them look like conversions. I still want them. :)

Ah Yes, More Germans so I can refine my camo painting . I really wanted to paint more splinter pattern stuf but doing the same guys over and over was , well boring.I converted a few, having a pile of airfix 1/32 multipose parts lying around. But oh yes, new Germans somewhere down the road to paint is a little something to look forward to.
As for the Americans, thats great too! Between these and the TSSD and more insane converting I hope to have a full company.

Even more WW2 guys on the preview page at Conte.Vignette goodies. Also a Norman Lord { I think, He's got a teardrop shield, Saxon Hucarl?} .Hinting at more 1066 are they??? I hope so.
See you TOMORROW at the Hyatt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fubar :D
