Just wanted to give Conte's Robin Hood a little female companionship
in the form of a Conte Maid Marion

To put it mildly, she does not really have the right physique for using the bow efficiently!

Given what I've heard about Errol Flynn, I'm not surprised Conte picked her as his co-star.....

You've heard the legends or myths on how the supposed Amazons used to cut off a part of their anatomy so they could shoot a bow and not hurt themselves.

Still, as interesting as these are, they'll never be produced.

The figure looks more like the pantomime figure of The Principal Boy - often played by a female figure dressed as a boy in thigh length boots. Often seen stridinng onto the stage - slapping his/her thigh and uttering some double-entendre, such as:

"Well Jack, who will be climbing my beanstalk tonite!" :wink2:

Doh!:D Not for me, I think

Sounds a bit like Benny Hill - now there's a line that'd get attention! Hard to believe that in the day he was with Guards Armd Div.

Jay;

I must apologize, for any confusion.
The kneeling figure is from the "Conte Collectors Club" CCC20 "Return to Sherwood".

The 'Maid Marion' is a conversion from one of the Pirate Women in the Conte set PIR021.

Sorry, as I am a new member of the forum and may have done this incorrectly.

I understood from your initial post that you were posting a conversion, Ivanhoe. Kudos to you that your work could pass as a new Conte figure.
