Hi Fellow Forum Members.

For to long I've sat on the sidelines and viewed a lot of conversations and newsworthy updates on what has been happening in the Toy Soldier World. I've generally conversed with several members via PM's as well as had the fortune to meet some good people at the Chicago Toy Soldier show back in 2009 I believe. So a while back, our good friend MikeMiller1995 was looking for some size comparison pics to the Conte Spartan Line. So I provided Mike some pics for eye view comparisons of the different sizes and he encouraged me to post the pics. That was a while back!

So anyway, I'm not going to say the dreaded scale word here. :) So this is not a certain manufacture pro this or that conversation but simply a photo comparison for members that are curious. The Spartan line seems to get some attention probably due to their relative scarcity so I'm on the Conte Sub-Forum for this topic.

Anyway, here are some photo comparisons of the Conte Spartan line vs other manufacturers lines. I have every Spartan set and love those figures. I also have a ton of other ancient lines and love them equally as my children! I never met a Spartan, Roman, Greek, Carthaginian, Persian, or any soldier wielding a sword/shield that I didn't love.

Here are some pics of a Persian vs an East of India Greek as well as a King and Country Saracen.

The pictures I'm interested in seeing are the Conte Spartans and Persians next to the Expeditionary Force plastic Greeks and Persians. I'm willing to bet the Expeditionary Force figures are bigger than the EOI Greeks, but I also bet they will look a little puny next to the Conte figures. I'm hoping they will work together.

Joe The Ex force are a bit smaller but not too far out of whack. I'm going to use them as a Greek Alliance force Vs Spartans, using the skrimish troops and Cavalry for both sides. I like the Peltasts best.
Once the Persians are released I'll add on to the Persians I still have remaining. Sold off most of them. Mistake. But it's been years since anything new and compatible came down the pike. Out of the blue, a real surprise.

Just curious Fubar,

Are your Conte figures painted plastic or the metal versions? (They are nice...plastic or metal) The metal versions may be larger which is why I ask. I have some opened packs of the unpainted plastics in which I could take more comparison pics vs the metal Spartans if any members wish to see more pics. I don't have any of the other before mentioned lines.

Those are plastics. I only have a few of the metal ones single figures and some diorama sets. The kneeling wounded { arrow in throat} is the same size as the plastic, to me anyway. I cannot tell any size difference.
The 2 Leonidas and the Officer do seem a bit larger on the Heroic size.

Thanks! Did you paint that shield or is it a transfer? Very cool.
