Would it be accurate to convert K&C Remeber the Alamo Figures to French Napoleonics?

Question #2: Conversion of Mexican Dragoons into French 1870 (2nd Empire) Dragoons Possible?

The Mexican army (and especially the Mexican cavalry) based their tactics and designed their uniforms according to French models. The Alamo is what 1835-36? I am sure that their uniforms are pretty close to whatever the French where wearing 20 years earlier. The weapons had not changed that much. So I think that the conversion would be possible. I don't think it would work with Second Empire troops.
